Just as the man measured out a thousand cubits at a time (Ezekiel 47:3–5), your spiritual growth is a journey of steps, not one giant leap.
From Edge to Ankle:
Start with one act of obedience: a daily quiet time, forgiveness, giving, reconciliation, or stepping back into community.
Small yeses create a pathway into deeper water.
From Ankle to Waist:
Let God into new areas: your schedule, relationships, finances, habits, secret fears.
Each “yes” takes you where the river runs stronger.
From Waist to the Deep:
This is where you release your need to always understand, always control, always be safe.
You say, “Lord, even if this costs me comfort, I choose You.”
Prayer:
“Jesus, I don’t want to stay where I’ve always been. Take me one step deeper today than I was yesterday.”
What Happens When You Truly Go Deeper
In the deep waters of Ezekiel 47, we see what happens when we stop playing it safe and surrender:
Dead Things Come to Life:
“Where the river flows, everything will live.” (Ezekiel 47:9)
Broken areas of your life – bitterness, despair, addiction, fear – can be healed in His presence.
Fruitfulness in Every Season:
Trees along the bank bear fruit every month; their leaves bring healing (Ezekiel 47:12).
When you go deeper, your life becomes a source of healing to others – your story, your scars, your journey become testimony and medicine.
You Become a Carrier of the River:
The river doesn’t just bless you; it flows through you.
Your home, workplace, church, and community feel the impact of a life surrendered to God.
Devotional Declaration:
“Where Your river flows in me, Lord, let life spring up around me. Make my life a channel of Your healing and fruitfulness.”
A Personal Invitation from the Father’s Heart
Today, God is not scolding you for being on the shore or only knee-deep.
He is inviting you, with love:
“Come further. Trust Me more. Let go of what you’re clinging to.
The life you long for is not on the edge; it’s in the deep with Me.”
At Go Deeper Ministries, our heart is simple:
To call you from the safety of the shore
To challenge you beyond partial surrender
To inspire you to live fully immersed in the river of God’s Spirit
A Closing Devotional Prayer
“Father, I thank You for the river of Your Spirit.
Forgive me for staying on the shore or clinging to control.
Today, I choose to step deeper.
Take me from the edge into Your flow.
From ankle to knee, from waist to waters over my head.
I surrender my fears, my plans, my need to understand.
Where Your river flows, everything lives –
Let Your river flow in me and through me.
Make my life fruitful, healing, and fully Yours.
In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Blessings!
